2D Drawing Export Support

Looking at the code, it's an Electron JS app. So it shouldn't take much to convert the sketch elements to SVG or DXF (especially using Makerjs).

I second the need for this. I have left behind Shapr3D for this app. I feel like this is very necessary. Since the software is open source, I wonder if I could just implement it myself.

Hi Nick Kallen ! Very shortly this feature is very needed because it will help us export our designs for CNC machining, laser cut, and other vectorial softwares for different purposes.
When Plasticity added the SVG import feature I thought that the SVG export will also be included in that same feature. If I'm being able to import it, then I should be able to also export it.
It's being a couple of years since this was first requested, and it is quite demanded (in the top 20 of most requested) as far as I can see. Just adding the SVG / DWG / DXF or any other similar vector format, will help us bridge more easily to other softwares we use, and potentially attract other potential users from "nearby areas".
I just make this post to keep it relevant.
Keep up the good work!

make curve duplicate of the solid face and export as iges to FreeCad then use draft worktable to make a sketch of the curves. and dimension in Sketch workbench. Export as DXF14 to your favorit plasma CNC program.

working in the film industry the ability to export and produce 2d documentation is essential to communicate with suppliers For all those who work in the same field as me it would make this software indispensable

Maybe just support dxf on Macos there is a library to convert dwg to dxf https://www.opendesign.com/guestfiles/oda_file_converter

I desperately want this feature.
In my case, I'd be fine with just exporting a plain unshaded image (PNG or something) that shows the dimensions and doesn't have the dark background from the viewport.
I've been doing this with screenshots (see attachment), basically posing the part with dimensions visible and snapping a shot, but there's no way to lighten the background colors so my printed pages are very hard to read (although if you do this, inverting the colors helps).

I couldn't agree more. As a designer, I spend my life outputting 2D views of my 3D files. Whether it's to make basic plans for subcontractors, operating diagrams for my products, instruction manuals, or simply wireframe illustrations. (Designers do much more illustration than realistic rendering.)
Of course, for me, a complete drawing and cutting tool like Fusion 360 would be great, but the ability to export simple wireframes would already change my life quite a bit. From there, I'd be able to make plans in AutoCAD, Illustrator or whatever.
This is Plasticity's biggest limitation for my use. With functions like this, it would be the ultimate design software. When I see the way most of my colleagues work, Plasticity is a much better tool for our practice than Rhinoceros or Fusion 360. I spend my life on SketchUp for workflow, but for all the complex shapes it's hell.

It would be fantastic that this gets implemented. I prefer to use plasticity tools for designing certain vectors like logos, that I later would need to output to another 2D vectors program. These other programs lack many tools that Plasticity has to make drawings more precise and easier to achieve.

Not sure if this should be on a separate request or not.
But I would vouch for this as well, not so much on the 2d/orthographics sides but if you look at this video Nick Kallen. It translates well the 3d lines of .dwg format from Alias to Rhino and back. It's identical despite the unit scale work around.
Since IGES export from Plasticity could still be unpredictable/messy (sometimes it's working sometimes doesn't) even for current software version, would love to see this as another alternative for a cleaner import to Alias (legacy and current version) from Plasticity.
I posted the IGES concern here:
Better yet if Plasticity could export to .wire alias format but not sure of the licensing/patent or other complications from Autodesk.
Thanks.
