Everyday I keep visiting Github to get the latest version of Plasticity. I think it would be very convenient to have some kind of "check for updates" option in the menu to automatically download and install the latest version of plasticity.

I've installed a couple of updates and can't figure out if they have worked or not because I get the same version number

The installer files don't have a version appended to the file name. Would be useful to know if the installed version is older than the downloaded one from the website.

It would be great if Plasticity had a feature (that can be turned on/off) where it checks online for new versions and notifies you when there's new builds to download!

This is the way… I was checking and accidentally downloaded the one on the website and it was newer than mine so I installed it.

Imho it would be good to have a dialog, notifying that a new version is available and whether one wants to update now, be reminded again or skip this update. People might want to delay major updates to after the end of an important project.

And it shouldn't propose updates to versions that are not covered by the installed license anymore.
