Export Sketches as SVG or DXF
Michael C. Main
I need this in my workflow to be able to export sections of my model for laser cutting.

Export SVG and/or DXF for laser / Cricket Cutting

Simple export to SVG generated from curves / selected-flagged faces, with the ability to set color example red for cutting black - blue for engrave and so on, it would also be nice to be able to use faces when exporting to SVG that represents filled vectors (for engraving tasks).

Adding my vote. I currently export to stl, import into sketchup and then export to PDF. Would be great to skip that step every time.

Export the curves as IGES and import it in Freecad, use draft table to convert it to a sketch, merge the sketches in sketch table, export as dxf/svg

It would be super useful for me to cut masks on a silhouette cutter

fully agree, we need just exprt of splines as an SVG (or DXF) just planar projection from X, Y or Z. converting STP throught FreeCAD is so silly :(
Plasticity became so powerfull app, it is so easy to draw simple shapes for lasercutter here (and bunch of other usecases) and the last step of that workflow is not implemented :(

A laser cutter is an essential tool in my every day creative work and currently I need to use the extremely cumbersome FreeCAD to convert shapes into SVG.
For me it would be sufficient to select a planar surface and get the curves exported as an SVG file. No need to combine surfaces of different orientations.
This feature has been requested several times, would it be possible for an admin to combine the requests? Please do not confuse this with the technical drawing requests though.

Totally support. Even a simple export to svg was a big fat plus.
And the option to print a selected area or object is also missing.

Anton Mymrikov, why is the option to print a selected object missing? Select an object, Export Shift+Ctrl+E as STL.

Oleksii Storozhenko I need to print a drawing, not a 3D model. Or at least export it to SVG so I can open and print it from Inkscape.

Adding my voice to this – I'm also eagerly waiting for this exact feature. It's incredibly necessary for my work.
While I have managed to find a workaround, it's a real pain to deal with. A simple, direct export option like the one described would be a game-changer. It would literally save hours of work and quite a few nerves. The proposal is perfect.
