I am very used to working with CAD programs, and I miss a tool in 2D drawing that I use a lot... the EXTEND tool, which extends a line until another line, but not a specific distance, but to the next line that is found.

Select the point you want to extend
Press
S
to scale
Press
V
and then
Shift
and place the pivot point on the line you want extend to
Scale towards this point

Reto Aebersold i have tried these method... dont like too much. Its fast CAD software like method (Autocad):
A- Select the EXTEND tool
B- Select the limit line
C- Select the line or lines to EXTEND
or CAM method (Solidworks like)
A- Select the EXTEND tool
B- Select the LINE to EXTEND
C- These line Extend to the next line that its her way
