This is simply to add options when creating a helix that allow one to specify the distance between full 360 degrees turns (equivalent to thread pitch in metric thread specification) or number of 360 degree turns over a certain length along the central spine (equivalent to threads per inch in imperial thread specification). Clearly, the measurement systems are interchangeable. Currently, the only option is to specify the number of 360 degree turns over the entire length of the spine.
The most obvious example of where these additional options should be of benefit is by making it easier to create threads in plasticity with whatever profile one might want without having to add new tools for creating screw threads.
Further to the primary suggestion of this request, it would be helpful if there was consistency between the Helix command and the Sweep command regarding how one specifies twists. For the Helix command one specifies the number of 360 degree twists for the overall length of the spine, and for the Sweep command one specifies the total number of degrees turned over the overall length of the spine. Of course, these two are equivalent, but I would suggest that for consistency, both use the same way of specifying the twist or both ways of specifying the twist are made available of each command, with number of twists being useful for quick adjustments in most cases, and number of degrees being useful for fine adjustments.
Clearly, my original suggestion regarding adding additional options to the Helix command apply to the Sweep command.
