As a bonus, by simply being able to blur the image one could instantly transform a glossy/shiny matcap to a matt one as seen in other 3D apps!

It would be nice if/when we get the ability to use our own Matcaps is to have a toggle/option that lets you choose whether the custom matcap overrides material settings or not. example: the difference between the metal car paint matcap and the ceramic lightbulb matcap.
