+1 for this. love the ease of use of plasticity but without instances it is only useful for patching things here and there for professional use

Absolutely needed. I don't think I want to buy the software until this is implemented, or at least that I know it will be in the next 12 months.

Oh man, now I have a Project that simply would kill me without instances. So much needed, so essential.

Instances for objects and arrays, mirrored objects and symmetry modifier

Instances for objects and arrays. (Instances can be expanded to become non-instances)
Mirror as instance so mirrored object will update automatically.
Symmetry modifier that creates a single merged object but updates mirrored side.

Agreed. Trying to leave Sketchup behind permanently, and I miss this feature as well. Sketchup calls them Components and yes when you change one, they all change.

Mark McCoy 100% agree. I'm trying to do exactly the same thing but without instances (Sketchup Components) its a bit hopeless. You have 100 copies of something in a model and what, you have to manual replace each one to change something? I suspect their Parasolid licence doesn't allow it, just like it I think does for history.

It's an absolutely fundamental feature, probably hard to implement and definitely not very flashy and that's why it is not there after years. I can imagine people want more matcaps or viewports or AO or any other thing. They are nice, only completely irrelevant for everyday work. Plasticity started with a set of basic extremely well implemented features and went into the woods. I accept the fact that different people need other functionalities, but every 3D software has the same core, you should be able to move the objects, delete them, clone them and hit x to exit the software.

Linked copies

It would be cool if one would have two copy'n'paste variants: One is creating an independent copy of the source object - and the other a linked copy.
When editing linked geometry, all copies change accordingly.
Local transformations that are applied additional to each linked copy could be position, rotation and possibly scaling.
Optimally such linked copies could even work across documents. That way one could easily maintain part-assembly relationships and one can create part libraries where usages get automatically updated in case of corrections. (Like linked objects can work in Blender)

This would be a game changer!

Including this ESSENTIAL feature would be a HUGE step forward!!
