Dynamic links between Plasticity files
Frédéric MASSELOT
Hello everyone, it would be interesting to be able to insert files in lightweight mode that cannot be edited (proxy mode) into the main modeling file in progress, we can do it in Blender and a number of CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Inventor. This would allow heavy scenes to be displayed in the 3D window while maintaining graphics memory and the work of the GPU or CPU.
I am posting this suggestion because I could not find it so sorry for the overload if it has already been mentioned.

Imported STL works in this way
Frédéric MASSELOT
Oleksii Storozhenko Indeed, the STL allows you to import a non-editable version and therefore lighter. But it is not dynamic and it will therefore have to be reinserted each time it is modified. It will also be part of the file in which it will be inserted and will contribute to the weight of the file, which is not the case with a dynamic insertion, which only keeps in the calling file a link that was used when the work file was opened.
But it's good to have opened up the discussion on this topic.
