Artistically, Plasticity is very impressive. However, I wish it had a few more CAD-oriented features as well.
I would like to use Plasticity not only for hard-surface art, but also as my main 3D design tool for functional parts and 3D printing. At the moment, the lack of common CAD features such as standardized screws, threaded holes, fasteners, and similar mechanical-design tools makes that difficult. For me, this is one of the main reasons I often get recommended Fusion 360 over Plasticity. However, I find Fusion 360 far too complex and engineering-oriented for the artistic work I do. I wish I could keep the artistic workflow of Plasticity while also having access to some of the most common engineering tools.
I understand that Plasticity is primarily focused on artists rather than traditional engineering CAD, and I actually like that direction. I just wish it sat slightly more in the middle: keeping the fast, artist-friendly hard-surface workflow while also including some of the practical tools commonly found in CAD software.
I think that combination could make Plasticity useful for a much wider range of projects without changing what makes it appealing in the first place.
I appreciate the work you are putting into the software. Have a good day.
