Section Analysis is Fine, But Could it be Enhanced to Create Section Cuts?

Although Section Analysis may be a handy tool, for me it's more of a gimmick that a tool that has other uses and is one I never really use it produces nothing that has any further use, though I am sure that's not the case for everybody. What I would frequently use, however, is a tool for creating cross sections of existing models such as ships hulls and aircraft fuselages. In short a tool that could produce results that can be used for quickly adjusting and modelling new lofted objects. Rhino has such a section tool and the possibilities of using it greatly increases the scope of what you can do with an existing model e.g. create virtual lines drawings of ships hulls for modification and lofting. For those in the community who model ships, I'm sure that like me you find the creation of boat hulls from lines plans quite tedious and the ability to create quick, editable sections would greatly enhance your workflow. I'd like to think that the Section Analysis popup tool could be modified with a button for creating sections from a cut through view, but that may not be possible. If not then perhaps a new Cross Section tool would be possible at some stage. Currently I have my own method of creating boat hull sections using cuts to existing models, but it's not all that fast and could be more automated.
